OSHAWA MUSIC WEEK – ACHIEVING BALANCE: Social Media & Mental Health in Music

Join our panelists Ace Piva, Errin Williams, Chris Bovie, Kathryn Hummel, and Kristel Jax for a conversation around the effects of having a consistent social media presence that is required in many jobs in the music industry. The topics addressed will range from the negative impact social media has on people’s mental health, strategies to create a balance between online and offline life, and how to connect with others while creating a safe space on social media.

Music makers can easily find themselves unprepared to deal with the financial and emotional burdens of an unforeseen emergency or illness. Unison, Canada’s music industry charity, is a non-profit organization providing free counselling and financial relief services to the Canadian music community. They are here to offer help to music industry professionals in times of hardship – providing a lifeline to ensure the health of our friends, colleagues, and collaborators.
