May 2, was the 1st anniversary of my best friend J May 2, was the 1st anniversary of my best friend Jeannie passing. She was like a sister to me and we had been friends for over 25 years. It’s taken me some time to collect my thoughts and process this devasting loss. Howerver my friend Danielle and I have created a GoFundMe to share her story and are hosting a celebration of life on May 26 in Port Stanley, ON. She meant a lot to both of us and after taking time to process, we’re finally ready to honour Jeannie’s legacy in a few meaningful ways we’ve outlined in the link in my profile. If you follow this link, you’ll read about Jeannie’s story, it’s not an easy one, but needed to be shared. We also share ways to consider helping honour her legacy. We appreciate anything you are able to do, even if it is not monetarily, just sharing this page and/or talking to your loved ones about mental health. We want Jeannie’s legacy to live on by celebrating her life, sharing cherished memories and giving back to causes that were near to her heart. If I’ve learned anything about the amount of grief and loss I’ve endured these last few years is talking, holding space for the hard feelings and putting your mental health first is truly what is most important to move through challenging times. What a fun way to spend a rainy day in the city, visiting so many wonderful brands.
